About Our Site

NewLifeInFrance was formed to offer a unique reference point on moving to and living in france.

Making the exciting decision to start a new life in France is not one to be taken lightly. Just as there are huge benefits to living life in the sun, so too are there a number of unspoken issues and complications that the TV programmes don't seem to mention!

NewLifeInFrance was written with real life in mind - there is plenty of information on those emotional and practical issues that you wish someone would tell you before you make the move to change your life.

With articles and features on all aspects of buying or renting a home in France as well as common practical considerations when moving to a new country, NewLifeInFrance offers clear, detailed and accurate information.

The site contains carefully researched articles written by people who have personal experience of moving to a life in the sun, covering topics such as telling your family you are moving to France, earning a living and social etiquette.

NewLifeInFrance is an invaluable resource for anyone considering a move to France. The advice and suggestions are down to earth and realistic, with practical issues discussed in detail, alongside information to help you understand what area of France would suit you and your family, how to deal with feeling homesick and the popular misconception that French fashion is wonderful!

We pride ourselves on making sure NewLifeInFrance is a helpful support to people of all ages and backgrounds looking to start a new life in the French sunshine, whether that is to retire, enjoy a more relaxed lifestyle or gain new language skills.

Our concern was that there was no single UK resource for interesting features and practical advice on this subject.

Our features and articles are written by experts - who have experience, or a particular interest in this area.

Our Background

NewLifeInFrance was founded by John Rowlinson, the founder of PtS.

John, through PtS, is involved in a number of ventures including software and property companies. A percentage of revenue from these activities goes towards funding NewLifeInFrance and a number of similar sites.

Our focus is simply on having experts create the highest quality information possible that is widely read.
